V-MODA Vibe Earbuds

If you haven't figured out already reading reviews on RuggedReviews.com: I hate headphone cords. I hate untangling them. I hate getting tangled in them. AND, I hate the booming sound the weight of cords make when they pull on earbuds. I swear, I've pulled muscles because my body cooled down while I was untangling headphone cords.

But, if you absolutely have to use wired headphones, you can't go wrong with the V-Moda Vibe Earbuds. The lightweight buds deliver powerful, balanced sound. The wires are coated with a relatively firm plastic that inhibits, but doesn't totally prevent, self-tangling. And they're shipped with three pairs of silicon eabud plugs -- small, medium and large -- that increase the odds you'll find a comfortable fit. The mediums work well for me.

Before I bought my Arriva Cordless iPod Shuffle Headphones, I relied on my V-Moda Vibe Earbuds when I was running, working out or doing chores. The best way to cut down on the annoying cord bounce and tangle is to take a mini-alligator clip, run the wire through it, and clip it onto the front of your shirt. Leave slack between the clip and your ears. This arrangement also extends the life of the earbuds, as the point where the wires join the buds isn't constantly yanked, which can lead to separation.

To overcome annoying cord bounce and tangle -- which can cause a thud and tug on my ears -- I attach the V-MODA Vibe wires to a mini alligator clip and attach it to the front of my shirt before running or working out.
