The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag
Nothing like a comfortable night's sleep after a long day of hiking.  Nothing like The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag to deliver it.

The North Face Cat's Meow is a synthetic sleeping bag designed to keep you warm in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.  To conserve body heat, chambers keep the insulation evenly distributed throughout the shell.  In addition, a hood with drawcords and a draft tube that runs along the zipper lock heat in and cold out.  A footbox retains heat and lets feet move freely.

When I use my North Face Cat's Meow with a Therm-a-Rest Luxury Camp Sleeping Pad, a Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow, and secure the sleeping bag to the sleeping pad with REI Sleeping Bag Slip-Not Straps, I'm guaranteed a good night's sleep.

The North Face Cat's Meow sleeping bag comes with a compression stuff sack that compacts the bag down to a just over a foot long.  At just over 2 1/2 lbs, it's light and compact enought to take anywhere.  There's also a mesh storage bag for when you don't have time to cram the sleeping bag into the stuff sack.  Storing the bag this way also gives it a chance to air out.

The only problem I've ever had with this sleeping bag is the same problem I have with any gear that has zippers.  If you're not careful, fabric can get caught in the zipper.  So take it slow when you're zipping.

The colors and a few design features change from year-to-year, but the North Face Cat's Meow line of sleeping bags remains among the highest rated.  There are models that fit the unique dimensions of men and women.
I can't look at The North Face Cat's Meow +20 Sleeping Bag without getting sleepy.  The synthetic sleeping bag has several features, such as an adjustable hood, insulated zipper and toe box, that ensure you'll be comfortable at temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.  If it gets too hot, you just unzip the bag and sleep on top.
The hood -- shown with an optional Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow -- and a fabric tube protecting the zipper (yellow strip) keep heat from escaping.  There's a pillow holder built into the hood.
The stuff sack compresses the sleeping bag down to just over a foot.  At about 2 1/2 lbs, the sleeping bag adds very little weight to your camping kit.
