SanDisk Sansa Clip
2 GB MP3 Player
The SanDisk Sansa Clip packs a lot into a little 2.2" x 1.3" package. Unlike many other small music players, it has a screen, so I can select artists, albums, songs, genres and playlists. This appeals to me because I often use it to play specific tracks on jam-along guitar lessons converted from CDs to MP3s.
The Sansa Clip holds up to 1,000 songs and plays for hours on a single charge. Extras include an FM radio, a voice recorder, and an equalizer, so you can actually custom the sound quality to your preferences.
The Sansa Clip sounds terrific. It's also relatively inexpensive, plays universal formats -- except Apple's AAC -- doesn't require proprietary headphones, and it uses a standard USB 2.0 cable for charging and downloading tunes. All this, and it has a built-in clip to attach to clothing.
Break from the herd. Dare to go SanDisk!
The SanDisk Sansa Clip is small but loaded with features. The MP3 player has an easy-to read screen, lit controls, FM radio, voice recorder, equalizer and fantastic sound. It even has a built in clip.
The Sansa Clip plays common formats -- MP3, WMA, secure WMA, and Audible audio files. You can't play songs in Apple's AAC format.
An equalizer is another great feature. The sound right out of the box is great, but it gets even better when you have the freedom to customize it to your tastes.
Controls are simple and straight-forward. The charger/download port is standard USB 2.0, the same as many cell phones. This means you can bring one cord or a car charger that works with your player and phone.
Another plus is the easy to operate volume rocker and the fact that the headphones of your choice -- regardless of manufacturer -- can be plugged into the unit.
