PacSafe Backpacker
When traveling the world, I want to focus on the scenery -- not whether people around me are casing my backpack.  That's why I bring my PacSafe Backpacker with me on every trip.

The PacSafe Backpacker is a lightweight but strong, stainless steel mesh sack that encases my backpack.  This makes it very difficult for a thief to slash or pilfer the backpack.  The PacSafe also has a strong stainless steel cord that allows the backpack to be secured to a stationary object.  This makes it very difficult for a thief to steal the entire pack.

I use my PacSafe Backpacker when I'm trekking to discouraging thieves from distracting me and slashing the bag, which is a great way to lose your clothes and gear in a flash.  I also use it to secure my backpack in a hotel room when I'm going out for the day.

Admittedly, no backpack security system is absolutely foolproof.  A thief with bolt cutters or very good wire cutters could defeat the PacSafe Backpacker, but it wouldn't be easy.  Most thieves look for a quick hit, so they're likely to move on when they see a PacSafe Backpacker.

The PacSafe is stored in a convenient pouch and comes with a padlock.

Place your backpack in the PacSafe Backpacker, pull the drawstring as tightly as you can, click on a lock and your backpack is slash, pillage and theft resistant.
The lightweight PacSafe Backpacker can be stored in a handy pouch.
Here's the PacSafe Backpacker unleashed.  The cord on the left runs through the locking mechanism.  It's long enough to be attached to a stationary object before you put your lock through the locking mechanism below.
