Playing ukulele is just plain fun.  The Kala Watermelon Ukulele takes it to a new level by being fun, attention catching and delivering that classic soprano ukulele sound.

When I bought my Kala Watermelon Ukulele, I thought that all the attention would be put into the silk-screen watermelon print at the expense of sound.  I was wrong.  The uke sounds great and is well constructed.

The machined tuners on the Kala Watermelon Ukulele do exactly what they're supposed to do: Hold the nylon strings in tune.  They do it so well, after a week of non-use I attached my Planet Waves Headstock Tuner
and found the instrument still perfectly in tune.

I've had a lot of fun playing this instrument alone and with others.  Just looking at it makes you feel better.

Note:  The uke is a great way to work out guitar playing issues like changing chords and strumming with rhythm.  The chord shapes aren't the same but the skills are transferrable.

The Kala Watermelon Ukulele looks fun and it is.
The silk-screened watermelon artwork is a real attention getter.
Attention to detail shows in the watermelon skin artwork on the back and sides of the ukulele.  The tuners hold the strings in tune, which is all I ask.
