Camping cliques seem to fall into three categories. The two extremes are those who sleep outdoors without a tent, eat bark and wash it down with water they collect off damp leaves in the morning, and those who drive palatial RVs, eat steak and lobster off fine china, and raise a champagne flut to the sunset -- as admired from their enormous picture window -- before they settle in for a night before their Hi-Def satellite TV.
Most of us fall somewhere in the middle. Dining on jerky and dried beans doesn't do it for me, but I like to see, feel and breathe the great outdoors. The Igloo Picnic Basket Cooler gives me just enough space for a bag of ice and supplies for two people that will last a couple of days. I usually store yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and fresh fruit to complement my slice of bark, I mean bread, at breakfast, and vegetables and pre-cooked chicken for lunch and dinner. There's also enough space to chill down a couple of cans of beer or soda or a bottle of wine for the evening.
I bought this specific model because it doesn't take up much space yet it meets my needs. It's easily toted to a picnic table. It's insulated so it conserves ice, and it doesn't sweat all over the place like some flexible cooler bags. All that and it has handy cup holders.
One note of caution: The lid doesn't lock down, which may be a concern for some, but I've never had it open, even when tooling down the bumpiest roads.
