Energizer 3 LED
Headlight
You never know how important a headlamp is until you find yourself hiking in a pitch black forest without a hint of detail around you.  That's the type of adventure situation the Energizer 3 LED Headlight has pulled me through over and over again, and I'm grateful.

After evaluating a dozen more expensive headlights in outdoor gear shops, I found the Energizer 3 LED Headlight in the battery display at a regular department store.  What caught my attention was that the headlight featured two white lights and one red light.  The white lights have obvious benefits in a dark environment.  The red light is critical if you have to read a map or work with equipment, and you don't want to blow your night vision.

The LED lamps burn brightly for 50 hours when powered by 3 AAA batteries.  And the casing is weatherproof, not waterproof.

Other pluses of the Energizer 3 LED Headlight:  1) The unit is lightweight.  2) The headstrap fully adjustable, so you'll get just the right tightness without giving yourself a migraine.  3) The light face is on a hinge, so you can aim it straight ahead or at the ground, to meet your needs.

There hasn't been a situation where the Energizer 3 LED Headlight failed me.  But if I was going on a long trek, I'd bring two just to be safe.  They're that inexpensive!

The Energizer 3 LED Headlight has two low-energy white LED lights that burn up to 50 hours on 3 AAA batteries.  The light face sits on a hinge so it can be aimed straight ahead or at the ground.
A huge plus is one red LED that enables you to read a map or work with gear without blowing your night vision.
