Bowflex SelectTech
552 Dumbbells
Let's say, like me, you want the maximum range of dumbbell weights in the minimum amount of space.  And you don't want to spend half your workout arranging and rearranging a heap of dumbbells.  If that's the case, you need Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells.

With Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells, you can set the amount of weight per dumbbell by simply spinning dials on both ends of each dumbbell.  When you lift the dummbells out of their holders, the handles will be carrying weight plates in the poundage you designated, while leaving the unneeded plates in the holders.  After you complete your exercise, you simply place the handles and plates back into the holders and dial in the weight for your next exercise.

Dumbbells provide a greater range of motion and exercise options than a single wide weight bar.  Each Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbell handle has fifteen potential settings from 5 lbs to 52.5 lbs of resistance.

Be warned, however, despite their tough appearance, Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells cannot be bounced like traditional dumbbells.  The moving mechanism in the handles that locks onto the weight plates can become misaligned.  I learned this the hard way.

Like a dumbbell, I bounced my weights and, almost out of revenge, the handles started dropping weight plates  -- a few horrifyingly close to my toes.  I contacted Bowflex -- unfortunately after my dumbbells were out of warranty -- and ordered new handles for over $100.  The new handles pick up the weight plates just fine, but it was a costly mistake by me.  Now I pump and grunt and place them gently back in the holders.

The 100+ smackers I spent on new handles is proof of my enthusiasm for Bowflex Selecttech Dumbbells.  Be smart, get these dumbbells.
Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells pack a  range of weight options in a little space.
Dial the desired weight at the ends of each dumbbell and that amount of weight plates is added to the handles.  Each handle has 15 weight settings, from 5 lbs to 52.5 lbs of resistance.
When finished with each exercise, place the handle in the holder and dial the amount of weight needed for the next exercise.  The only real difference between SelectTech Dumbbells and traditional dumbbells is you can't treat them roughly.  If you do, the plate holding mechanism in the handles will be misaligned and they may drop the plates.
