When you're traveling the world -- city and country -- few items come in handier than the humble bandana.  I've used them for everything from keeping my head cool to keeping mosquitoes and gnats away from my ears.  There are dozens of reasons to bring a bandana.  If you have any unique uses, send them to me at ruggedreviews@aol.com.
Consider the humble bandana.  Among all the adventure gear you'll ever own, no single item is as useful, versatile, inexpensive and overlooked.

When I'm heading out into the wild, I always have one with me, and not as a fashion accessory.  Bandana's are useful for everything from wiping sweat to swatting flies to cleaning minor wounds.  They can be dunked in water to cool your head and neck.  Tucked under a hat with the flaps falling out, they can keep mosquitoes and gnats out of your ears.  In a worst case scenario, a really bright bandana can be waved to signal for help.

They're great for sitting on when a tree limb is filthy.  And they're always on call to keep my hands dry when I'm dancing outdoors at a festival with my girl.

The humble bandana, never leave home without one.
